08.07.1921:

First patent of company's founder Ernst Sachs
18.11.1921:Business registration in Berlin.
The enterprise grows steadily despite inflation and economic crises. The premises are extended several times. The 200 Watt soldering iron is joined by other lighter models for the electrical industry as well as tin melting pots.
1923:Ernst Sachs marries Gertrud Neumann
1923:Relocation to a bigger workshop in Marienfelder Strasse
1927:Construction of the residential and factory premises in Manteuffel Strasse
1943:Bombing raids on Berlin force the relocation of most production capacity to Lower Silesia
1944:Berlin works bombed
1945:Teuplitz works occupied by Soviet troops
1946:Resumption of production in a hut adjacent to the railway station in Wertheim.
1948:Construction of the residential and factory premises at Ferdinand-Hotz-Str. 3
1949:ERSA sends representatives to the first Export Fair in Hanover. The ERSA 30 starts its successful career.
1953:Ernst Sachs, Jr. joins the company
1960:Introduction of a performance-related profit-sharing scheme for the employees
1961:Transfer of soldering iron production to the current company site
1961:ERSA sells the first soldering machines on the German market
1962:Construction of the new administration building
1964:Ernst Sachs, Sr. is awarded the Diesel Silver Medal
1968:ERSA builds the first of its own soldering machines
1971:Development of the mechanically temperature-controlled soldering iron
1971:Extension of the premises in Leonard-Karl-Str.
1973:ERSA is cofounder of the world's leading trade fair Productronica in Munich.
1974:Market launch of electronically temperature-controlled soldering stations
1977:The firm's founder, Ernst Sachs, dies at the age of 87
1983:Arson following burglary. Damage to the soldering equipment factory totals more than DM 6 million.
1985:New production and administration building for soldering machines
1986:ERSA starts development work on Reflow soldering machines
1987:ERSA presents the first microprocessor-controlled soldering station. This revolutionary concept points the way ahead for the entire industry, offering the opportunity to connect several stations together and control them from a PC by process control software.
1988:

ERSA regularly arranges Know How Seminars on the basis of its former soldering conventions for training and a more intensive expert dialogue

1.1.1993:Incorporation of ERSA in the Kurtz Group
1994:ERSA's developers achieve volume production status for the fluxless wave soldering process using ultra-sonics, marketed as So-No-Clean™
1994:The HOTFLOW range of total convection machines begin their successful career on global markets
1995: New generation of soldering stations is awarded the IF Design Prize
1995:ERSA presents its newly developed in-line selective soldering machine VERSAFLOW
1995:Foundation of KURTZ Far East Limited / ERSA Asia Pacific in Hongkong
1996: Relocation of preliminary production of machinery components and foundation of a new metalworking company, Metallbearbeitung Wertheim (MBW).
1996:ERSA celebrates its 75th anniversary
1997:The IR 500 Rework Station with dark IR radiators and patented aperture system is introduced to the market
1998:The first selective soldering system ERSA VERSAFLOW is introduced to the market
1999:ERSA receives numerous innovation prizes for the ERSASCOPE and the ERSA ImageDoc quality assurance software, e.g. the "Dr.-Rudolf-Eberle" of the state of Baden-Wuerttemberg
1999:Foundation of ERSA Inc. in Plymouth, WI, USA
2000:KURTZ/ERSA Shanghai is founded
2000:Together with its cooperation partner MANZ ERSA presents "Place and Solder", the first worldwide placement and selective soldering system in one machine
2000:New assembly hall for ERSA soldering machines in Wertheim
2000:ERSA wins the "EP&P Grand Award" in Anaheim, USA, and the "SMT Vision Award" with the inspection systems
2001: ERSA is certified according to the ISO 9001:2000 norm
2001:The ERSA IR 550 rework system wins the "SMT Vision Award" in San Diego, CA, USA
2002:ERSA introduces the EPOS 1 process optimization software package for machine soldering
2002:IRSoft process documentation software for ERSA rework systems
2003:The new generation of ERSASCOPE 2 inspection systems allows non-destructive Flip-Chip inspection for the first time
2004:Technology day und open day in the course of the the Kurtz Group's 225th anniversary
